Failure can be beautiful. The art of failing means to be constantly failing or falling short at a new task. It basically shows that It’s okay to fail. “You must expect failure as part of your journey of success, failure and success go hand in hand, you cannot have one without the other.”(Richard Parkes Cordock). When you first start something new you are going to be bad at it in comparison. Don’t let this stop you from learning something new. Instead find the lesson learned. Why did this fail? How can I improve? Find the building blocks of knowledge in your failures.
The art of failing is simplistic but powerful. Once you find the beauty in failure, the art, you are free to try whatever you want. Not being afraid of failing makes a huge difference in your ability to start over. Being able to fail well gives you a good new beginning. But how do you fail well?
Be nice to yourself. You’re trying and you’re able to learn from your mistakes so don’t be mean to yourself for failing. Sometimes all we can do is try again. There’s no point in bullying yourself over it, that’ll just hinder your learning more. Instead fill your thoughts with positive messages. Think about how to accomplish your goal, not how you haven’t gotten there yet. This is how many successful people think and act.
Mickey Rooney once said “You always pass failure on your way to success.” So next time you’re being mean ask if you’re really helping yourself. Are you able to use the art of failure?
